Vinnies volunteers share our vision of a more just and compassionate society. Every role makes an impact. Those who give their time to volunteer with Vinnies are directly helping to raise vital funds and provide assistance to people who are experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence, and poverty.  Our shop volunteers make a huge difference for people in need, helping to raise nearly 30% of funding for our homelessness and support services in NSW. Vinnies volunteers are also planet protectors, as they help to divert millions of items from landfill each year, and reduce the CO2 emissions from the production of clothing items by prolonging their use. We're always on the lookout for passionate people to join us in our mission. Over the past financial year, approximately 5,750 retail and logistics volunteers helped Vinnies to sell over 3.4 million items of pre-loved clothing and goods around the state.

Our volunteers are the heart of Vinnies shops, and we couldn’t do what we do without their hard work and dedication.

Volunteers donate a few hours of their time each week to assist customers, sort donations and maintain the day-to-day running of our shops. This could be your chance to give back to the community, share your skills, develop new ones, and make new friends. We have a range of roles to suit everyone.

No experience? No worries. If you’re friendly and reliable, we’d love for you to join the team. Anyone aged 16 and over can apply.

Vinnies NSW offers a diverse range of volunteering opportunities that enable individuals to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Volunteers can assist in Vinnies’ Op Shops by sorting and merchandising generous donations and helping customers with their purchases.

Other roles include working within our Vinnies services or Vans in community kitchens, delivering emergency relief, assisting with fundraising and events, and offering administrative support. For those with specialized skills, there are opportunities in areas like mental health support, financial literacy, and youth mentoring.

The flexible roles at Vinnies allow volunteers to contribute during their preferred days and hours enabling them to have a balanced lifestyle with any other responsibilities.

Vinnies can work with you to provide rewarding experiences, opportunities to utilise your talents, or provide training to help you serve the people in your neighbourhood.
