Funding our Good Works
At Vinnies, we believe that everyone deserves dignity, compassion, and a positive path forward. We know the power of people’s collective goodwill, and we help harness it to deliver and generate funding for the critical services and care people need every day. When you donate or purchase items at our shops, you are directly helping us to raise funds for our charitable works.
The money that comes through sales allows Vinnies NSW to operate vital services and programs in the community – that could mean helping people experiencing homelessness, assisting those who are escaping domestic and family violence, or getting food on the table for families who are struggling to make ends meet in the current cost-of living crisis.
Every time you make a purchase at Vinnies, you can feel good knowing that the money goes towards helping people in need.
- $20 can help provide a meal in our services like the Vinnies Vans so vulnerable people don’t go to bed hungry.
- $57 can help provide a night of accommodation to someone experiencing homelessness.
- $72 can help provide essentials like clothing for someone escaping domestic and family violence.
- $110 can help someone put petrol in their car so they can go to work and pay their rent or household bills.
Vinnies Shops
Our Vinnies shops have been around for over 100 years. The very first depot, established in 1922 on King Street, Newtown, collected and resold waste products to raise funds for St Vincent de Paul Society NSW.
Although our mission to turn second-hand goods into positive change remains the same, we’ve now grown to over 220 retail outlets throughout New South Wales and are a go-to for thrift enthusiasts and shoppers wanting to purchase quality pre-loved items.
Vinnies Finds is the latest addition to the Vinnies retail offering – meaning our customers (ie. you!) can now enjoy a digital browsing experience to find a unique range of Vinnies’ products online.

Our products are sourced through generous donations to Vinnies. Any items suitable for our online shop get sent to our warehouse in Stanmore. When you make a purchase, staff at the warehouse will carefully package it up for delivery straight to your door.
Hundreds of new products are uploaded to the Vinnies Finds website daily, so you can check back frequently to see what’s new. Some items may be pre-loved, and some may be brand new–the condition of each item will be displayed on the product page.
Got quality clothing or accessories that you no longer need or wear? Donating them to Vinnies could have a real impact! We love to receive your good condition second-hand items as they allow us to continue making a difference.
